There is no denying the fact that Nepal is an unparalleled nation in terms of topographical variation and cultural diversity. Despite being a small country with a population of about 28 million, Nepal is home to many of the world’s highest mountains, including Mt. Everest (8,848m), beautiful hills, lush green valleys and the Terai plains. As the country is multi-lingual, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious, Nepal has endured and lived through various adversities until this day. As we respect Nepal’s beautiful tradition, Vision Nepal strives to fulfill our role of becoming a foothold for Nepal, pursuing and realizing our mission to harmonize with the world through a vision that transcends all religions and nations.

I, myself, belong to a family where our livelihood is dependent on agriculture. I have also worked as a self-help program motivator for a development project in Nepal. This project was funded by the Swiss Government. This offered me a good opportunity to gain hands-on experience in this field. I worked in different districts for several years and understood the reality of Nepal carrying many issues that are not easy to deal with.

When I had the chance to visit South Korea, as one of the countries I have had the opportunity to visit in the past, I came across a policy called the “Sae-Maul Movement” which means, “New Community Movement”, a policy introduced by the South Korean Government in the past, which accelerated the development of the country tremendously. I was extremely impressed by this history and I now feel that such a policy that implements a new spirit of “building a new village” is necessary in Nepal with the involvement of the Government.

Through providing a direction for overcoming both the internal and external problems in our nation, we would like to move towards establishing a foundation to enhance economic activities and the education of human resources through introducing and acquiring future-oriented technologies adapted to Nepal, starting from Vision Nepal.
